About Me

From the time I was little I have always had a soft spot for animals. I grew up around animals since I was little, having cats growing up and friends having dogs and my grandparents having a German Shepherd.

When I was 18 years old I looked for a job to work with animals. I found a job at a doggie daycare and boarding facility, and thoroughly enjoyed working there, learning of all the different breeds and their characteristics. I enjoyed being able to play with them, feed them, and administer medication. During my time at the doggie daycare I decided to go back to school to become a Dog Trainer. I wanted to do something to help people and animals better understand each other.

Through classes and training from Animal Behavior College I got a better knowledge as to how dogs interact with each other, how to know if they are just playing or fighting just by their body language, their bark and interacting with them. I not only studied and read about dog training but also had hands on training with a trainer in my area. In May 2013 I graduated from Animal Behavior College with a certificate as a Certified Dog Trainer.

Since January 2013 I have started my own dog walking service, house and dog sitting and then added basic obedience training after I graduated in May 2013. In July 2014 I took a basic first aid for pets from Who’s Walking Who.

I enjoy seeing the relief on an owner’s face after I have helped them with some training for their dog, or to have people tell me how different their dog has been since I have started walking them. I want to be able to help owner and dog have a better relationship with each other, and I believe a well-balanced dog includes: socialization, training and a committed owner to work with the dog for the dog to be able to achieve their best ability. Dogs are willing to learn, but you as the human and owner need to be willing to teach them and commit to it.
